Delicious BBQ. Recommend the Brisket, it's fatty and tender 8/10. Try their sauces that they have inside. This location only has outdoor seating, it is shaded with a view of the gas station. Service is always friendly here, we go whenever we need that BBQ fix in the valley.
Small Bbq joint. Out door seating, nothing to fancy. Whiskey bbq was the best sauce. .
Hey guys... so, it's been a good minute since I've stopped in, and boy, do I sure miss the baby back ribs from Swingin' Door Texas BBQ sooo soo much. I actually dream about them sometimes! Even just typing this out is making my mouth water. And then I start thinking about their delicious, lil' cornbread muffins and I'm full on drooling I almost always get my food to-go because there are only a couple small tables outside, and the restaurant is located right next to a gas station, which is convenient, don't get me wrong, but not the kind of ambiance I prefer when dining on some of LA's finest Texas style BBQ. Plus when I take home those sweet lil' cornbread muffins, I get to plop down on my couch, then slather them with butter and honey, and nobody's guna judge me! Except maybe my cat... but he's kind of a dick sometimes anyways. And of course no meal is complete without their awesome baked beans. The baked beans are great even cold the next morning... that's only if any of them survive until then, coz usually I just go to town on all this epic BBQ, and absolutely get so lost in it that I'm unaware of my surroundings, and truth be told, I usually don't have the willpower to save any for later. That used to be no problem coz I could always drive down the street and get more if I was still craving Swingin' Door, but now I live so far away, and this is just another thing that makes me really regret moving. Okay, one last thing, and I almost feel guilty saying this because of how much I love the food here. I've been to Swingin' Door prob more than a couple dozen times, and I've never received particularly friendly service. It's not that the service was bad or unfriendly, but just kind of bland and automatic, with little to no personal interactions, and few if any smiles from those working the register. However... I always go in the evening, and literally almost every time I've been there, I see the owner either pulling in to park, carrying inventory to the back, or just generally checking on the place, and it's apparent that he really cares about his business and takes a lot of pride in the food. And he should be very proud! This place is the bomb and the food is always on point. I'm so glad to see that the Swingin' Door made it onto a list for best BBQ joints in the area. Congratulations! I hope to return soon!!
I forgot to take a picture! The food was so good. The brisket was tender and I loved the mashed potatoes and coleslaw. Service was fast and great customer service skills. The ambiance is laid back and they have an outdoor patio. It's right next to a gas station that's the only downfall. Great place to grab great food!
This local small bbq spot is amazing! We are coming from the Central Valley and trying to find a good bbq spot in LA and this is a must try! Decent pricing for delicious bbq and great service. Not much seating area but it's a quick service type vibe so seating usually opens up fairly quickly. Big Tex (4 choice of meats + 4 choice of sides) Brisket lean (my fav) Brisket moist Tri-tip Ribs (+$3 additional) Mac and cheese Baked beans Red potato salad Corn bread The bbq sauce they give is good! The spicy has a kick! Thanks again to Domingo and the team for great food and great service! We'll be back next trip!
This place is really good. I have been wanting to come to this place for a while since it's on everyone's list of top BBQ spots in Los Angeles. I agree it is one of the top BBQ places I've been to in Los Angeles county. 1st the Baby back ribs were amazing. The meat justs falls of the bone or you could just pull it off. The meat is seasoned very well not too much salt plus a little spicy peppery kick to it. You honestly don't need sauce so I'm happy that they put it on the side. The tri tip was good not as tender as the ribs but really good and Smokey. It was a little too salty but it wasn't that bad. The beans were pretty good and a large portion side, larger than most restaurants give you. The potato salad wasn't bad I personally just don't like celery in mine and this potato salad had celery in it. Overall this place was really good and worth the 40 minute drive from Inglewood. I would definitely come back to try something different because I have a feeling that everything is good here. Oh yeah the cornbread was really good also. One more thing they have lots of different bbq sauces to choose from super duper spicy to sweet. I like the sauce's my only complaint is that they're on the watery side not thick at all but they all are very good.
Food is amazing. Outside patio seating only, everything served to-go style. Since 2020 they only use the inside for storage and orders. Sodas, no beer, 7-11 across the street. 3 item Spare ribs +$3 Pulled pork Sausage Garlic mash BBQ baked beans Garlic Bread or Cornbread options. Chose Garlic Spicy BBQ requested, but there's a table with 3-4 custom BBQ sauces. Today I grabbed Whisky (my fav) and Smokey Honey Mustard. Excellent 30 minute business meeting with shared food connections.
Great BBQ for the price! I had the Big Tex which comes with a choice of 4 meats & 4 sides along with cornbread or garlic bread. MEAT --Baby Back Ribs this was good and I'd get it again. I love ribs. --Brisket - I got this lean because I wanted "to be good/healthy" Obviously on the drier side. I have to try it more fatty next time. --Burnt ends - this was good. --Sausage hot links - I always enjoy sausage, this wasn't bad, but I've had better. SIDES --MUST GET the garlic mashed potatoes. This has to be their top side because it is amazing. --Macaroni & cheese. I'm like a child so I always get mac & cheese when I see it on the menu. --Coleslaw - this was okay, could pass on it next time. --BBQ beans - I liked this and would get this again. There is covered outdoor seating. They pack all of the food for to go, but it can be eaten outside. There is parking in front of the restaurant.
Cute lil place tucked away in between a gas station and neighborhood. GPS directed me to the alleyway behind it (where the smoker is) but they have street parking and a lil lot. Ordered takeout and it was ready in less than 20 minutes. They were so sweet and kind when I picked it up! I moved out to LA from Texas so I love me a great bbq spot We ordered: Brisket (lean): favorite thing of the night! Mmm Pulled pork: pretty good with sauce, a lil dry without Burnt ends (Moist): delicious! Very moist, some really fatty pieces (comes with territory) and some real meaty pieces (best part) Beans: okay, had meat in them Mac: meh, creamy sauce type Cornbread: fuego! Everything I love about a good cornbread The sauces were a star here! Spicy wasn't too different from the regular for me, but they had a sauce bar where you could try: fire, habanero, maple honey, vinegar, smoky honey mustard, +1 that slipped my mind . Fire was my fave
